What is wellness? Is it simply the lack of disease, or freedom from aches and pains? To us wellness is vitality, freedom of movement and supple strength. A body that is not in a state of runaway inflammation and subject to pains that eat away at the quality of life.
Now to the bigger question. What is Anti-aging? This is a state where you greatly slow or almost stop the march of time and start to remove the evidence it leaves behind in the form of lines and wrinkles, premature skin aging from environmental exposure, free radicals and sun damage from uv rays.
This revitalization is evident in the skin by an even skin tone and glow that improve the appearance. Skin cells slow their aging as facial wrinkles and fine lines are reduced in number and depth as collagen growth and skin hydration is stimulated. Dead skins cells are shed as aging skin gives way to newer brighter skin and more even skin tone. Hair loss decreases as health improves. This rejuvenation process can be further assisted by a skin care routine consisting of anti aging products many of which are highly recommended by dermatologists.
This anti aging skin care routine would consist of a gentle cleanser for daily use. This would be followed up with a good moisturizer cream with SPF to help block uv rays to prevent photoaged skin. Then a weekly scrub with hyaluronic acid, or alpha hydroxy acids to remove dead skin cells and wrinkle creams every day to hydrate, improve skin texture and reduce fine lines. Skin care products with active ingredients such as vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and amino acids both internally and as a cream can help with age spots, neutralize free radicals and also assist your wrinkle treatments. The effectiveness of Vitamin C for the skin is better when taken internally than when applied as one of the active ingredients in a wrinkle cream for its anti aging properties. Vitamin C is also best utilized from plant based sources. Anything that has been heated through pasteurization is NOT a good source of usable vitamin C.
Wrinkle creams, sometimes known as anti wrinkle creams, can greatly speed the process along, but the prices and effectiveness can vary greatly, so it is important to get a proven formulation. A good anti wrinkle cream will usually create a skin barrier and incorporate some level of sun protection as well as collagen production to target fine lines and wrinkles and guard against skin ageing. This combination of active ingredients will help protect skin, moisturize dry skin, improve skin elasticity and boost overall skin health. Be aware that some people have sensitive skin or allergies and wrinkle cream may contain chemicals that can cause skin irritation. Once you have incorporated anti aging products based on individual skin types, along with diet and exercise, you are well on your way to looking younger through the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles and a marked improvement in your skin’s appearance. Deep wrinkles can take longer and will soften and reduce in severity as collagen is built up in the area. This routine will help with current challenges and go a long way to prevent wrinkles and dark spots from forming. Anti-aging skin care is a great goal and has been the pinnacle of health until recently.
Within the last few years, additional discoveries and technologies have become available to the public, to actually take this one step further. This is the area of medicine and health sciences that are so exciting right now. This has been dubbed reverse aging.
Through the use of patented technology, science has been able to demonstrate the ability to turn back the clock on multiple facets of aging and even reset much of our Dna to a younger more vibrant state. Hormone levels stabilize, muscle cells are renewed at an increased rate and more importantly stem cell activity returns to a younger more active state causing cardiovascular health, blood vessels and blood cells to improve. It also causes wound healing, musculature, anti inflammatory response, joint health and mobility to roll back to a more vigorous state with these technologies. Much of this work centers around different peptide bioregulators and signaling pathways to get your muscle cells and body to behave as it did when you were younger. Much of this research revolves around the creation and use of human stem cells.
Stem cell research is an area of medicine that holds a great deal of promise for the future. By studying stem cells, scientists are hoping to gain a better understanding of how diseases develop and how they can be treated. Additionally, stem cell research could lead to the development of new treatments for conditions that are currently considered incurable. In recent years, there have been a number of significant advances in stem cell research, and it is expected that this field will continue to make progress in the years to come. With each new discovery, we inch closer to a future in which stem cell therapies are commonplace. And while there are still many challenges to overcome, stem cell research offers hope for a better tomorrow.
Stem cell therapy is a rapidly evolving field of medicine with the potential to change the lives of millions of people. Stem cells are human cells that have the ability to self-renew and differentiate into a variety of specialized cell types. There are two main types of stem cells: embryonic stem cells and adult stem cells. Embryonic stem cells are derived from early stage embryos and have the ability to differentiate into any type of cell in the body. These can take the form of organ cells, such as healthy heart muscle cells to replace damaged ones, or blood cells, nerve cells, bone cells, brain cells, etc. This area of study has ethical concerns and alternatives are being sought.
One way to safely harvest stem cells if from umbilical cord blood. Umbilical cord blood is a valuable resource that can be used in a number of ways. Cord blood is rich in stem cells, which have the ability to develop into a variety of different cell types. This makes cord blood an invaluable resource for treating a range of diseases and disorders. In the future, cord blood may be used to treat a wide variety of diseases and conditions, including cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, cord blood may also be used to regenerate tissue and organs. umbilical cord blood banking is a process by which umbilical cord blood is collected and stored at the families request for future use. umbilical cord blood banks provide a safe and reliable way to store cord blood for future use. Cord blood banking is an important step in preserving this valuable resource for future generations.
Adult stem cells are found in adult tissues and can give rise to new tissue specific to the organ in which they are found. Pluripotent stem cells are a type of adult stem cell that has the ability to differentiate into any type of cell, giving way to specialized cells, making them especially valuable for therapeutic purposes. Stem cell therapies are currently being used to treat a variety of diseases and injuries, with promising results. In the future, it is hoped that stem cell therapy will be used to treat a wide range of conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and diabetes.
According to the definition, Pluripotent stem cells are cells that are able to develop into many different types of cells or tissues in the body. Pluripotent stem cells have the ability to undergo self-renewal and to give rise to all cell types of the tissues of the body according to a 2016 article from the National Library of Medicine.
Another exciting advancement for pluripotent stem cells has come from UCLA in 2007. They have successfully developed a technology that allows normal skin and blood cells to be reprogrammed. The resulting stem cells are labeled Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells. Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells or iPSC are derived from skin or blood cells that have been reprogrammed back into an embryonic-like pluripotent state that enables the development of an unlimited source of any type of human cell needed for therapeutic purposes.
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are stromal cells that have the ability to self-renew and also exhibit multilineage differentiation according to a 2011 article on PubMed.
